The BlackBerry Z10

The BlackBerry Z10 is the newest BlackBerry that RIM presented at the BlackBerry 10 event on January 30, 2013. The Z10 is a touchscreen-based smartphone which has more advance features then the original BlackBerry phone. To me one of the best features on the Z10 is the Voice Control, which allows you to operate the phone by spoken commands. The Voice Control feature allows you to send messages, compose emails, dictate documents, and search the phone by just speaking to it. The coolest feature on the Z10 as well, is the camera which has a Time Shift mode app that captures the perfect picture as it takes multiple frames when the mode app is activated. Like for instance you take a picture of your friend and she blinks or has a weird face expression. The feature can go backward or forward through photos and adjust the picture to the moment before the expression or blink was made. A time scale is displayed around the selected face, and you can drag the slider to choose the best-looking face from the burst.  After you’re done with photoshopping the picture, the changes are combined in a single shot. It works faultlessly and the results don’t have even a hint that it’s actually been edited.

Instant Messaging

Instant Messaging is considered to becoming a permanent powerful communication tool. IM keeps you in touch with your contacts anytime, anywhere in the world as long as you have a cell phone signal or a Wi-Fi connection is available. Instead of using the telephone or sending email to communicate, IM has been a substitute for things like using the telephone to call a friend to ask to go shopping with or sending an email to a coworker to discuss setting up a business meeting. IM has been accessible for years on desktops on the computer but it is now been available application for mobile devices and other handheld devices. IM is a great communication tool for communicating in groups to discuss projects or for friends to keep in contact with the latest gossip and fashion. Just to name a few Instant Messaging apps available on BlackBerry are Windows live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and Google Talk

The BlackBerry 850

The BlackBerry 850 was the first device that RIM introduce in 1999 to the wireless market. The 850 was a two-way pager that had features like…

·         Wireless email

·         Corporate Data Access

·         Organizer

·         Wireless Calendar

·         Wireless Internet

·         Paging

Even though the 850 was a two-way pager it was widely used by many people especially businesses to stay connected with work. The 850 was like a mini computer on the go, as with the wireless email feature you can send and receive email messages straight from the device being anywhere in the world. RIM has its own server which is called the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. The software and service connects to messaging and collaboration software on enterprise networks in which it retrieves a copy of the email from the other servers (Microsoft Exchange, Lotus, Outlook, etc.) and pushes it to the device.

The Corporate Data Access provides mobile access to critical corporate data and aplications. The Organizer is a feature on the BlackBerry to help you organize data on your device. The device would connect to your computer and synchronize data from you device to your computer to backup and keep data the same in both locations.

The Wireless Calendar can transmit information on your calendar from your device to your computer.  Wireless Internet on the BlackBerry device can be configured to find an open Wi-Fi network. Paging a BlackBerry 850 device can be done multiple ways, numeric dial-up, email, World Wide Web and TAP.

Email Messages

Have you forgotten to verbally communicate to your employees about setting up a meeting? Or how about, informing the receptionist at the office that you’re out of supplies. For many businesses today using email is the most reliable source for internal communication needs. As one of the greatest productivity tools of our time, email is the communication channel of choice. One of the most things used on a BlackBerry smartphone would be the email capability. For many businessmen using a BlackBerry is the most preferred method for send and receiving business communications.

Not only is BlackBerry an important device for businessmen but it is also an important tool and necessary device for…

Sales Representatives, who need to keep in contact with their clients. Like for instance, an email can be sent to the client if the Sales Rep needs to discuss other products and services that the client may be interested in.

Technicians, who are at a site trying to repair a transmitter that is down and needs to send out a broadcast email to other colleagues advising that the situation is being handle and will inform once completed.

There are just many businesses out there that rely on email for their business communication needs and having a BlackBerry is a great choice to use for communicating through business or personal use!

iPhone VS. BlackBerry

According to an analyst at Scotia Capital the BlackBerry 10 phones are better than the current generation iPhone and many Android devices.  The Scotia analyst rated Research in Motion to “outperform” citing the companies’ upcoming line of BlackBerry 10 smartphones as having the technical prowess to help RIM defend its turf and also expanded highly completive in the cell phone market.
RIM may have lost customers in the past to other mobile vendors especially iPhone, but Scotia analyst Gus Papageorgiou quoted “We believe RIM has a good chance at convincing some old users to come back to the platform and bring in some new users as well.” Between the BlackBerry 10 and iPhone, the BlackBerry was a more popular smartphone especially for businessmen due to its heavy concentration on email services, its email capabilities, sending and receiving emails as if they were text messages. Even though the BlackBerry started off as a two-way, when the iPhone came out it was introduce as a phone with multiple capabilities. Due to its innovative features and extremely intriguing design, the iPhone had redefined the look of a smartphone. Even though both phones were meant for different sectors of the market the Blackberry 10 and the iPhone almost shared the same functionalities with one or the other having a higher performance over the other.

iPhone and BlackBerry 10 share the same similarities like the slim case of each device

RIM

which stands for Research In Motion is a Canadian company that specializes in telecommunication and wireless devices. RIM was founded by Mike Lazaridis in 1984 and its headquarters is based in Waterloo, Ontario.  One of the biggest electronic wireless devices to come out in the market was the BlackBerry, which was introduced to the market in 1999 (Quoted: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlackBerry). The BlackBerry has a long list of wireless handheld devices; with one of the newest BlackBerry devices to come out last month is the BlackBerry Z10. The BlackBerry first started out as an email pager and then branched off to be one of the best communication devices in the business world.

In the world today what do you think would be the best way to communicate? On the phone, how about an email or a simple text message so you know for sure your message was received. All three of these are the best way to convey your message. Why just stop at one way to communicate, when you can have all three to get your message across. That’s why; thanks to RIM the BlackBerry wireless handheld device was created. You don’t only have a phone, but you have email, internet,  short message system (SMS) and for those of you who don’t know what SMS is, its text messaging and we all know about text messaging. How many of you get heart attacks when you see your monthly wireless bill? Want to know why, because 75 percent of the time the cause of the bill being so insanely high is….ding…ding…ding “text messaging.” That’s why BlackBerry has its innovative BBM (BlackBerry Massager), an instant message application that is included on all BlackBerry devices that allows BlackBerry users to message among each other.
We all love and are addicted to our CrackBerry A.K.A. BlackBerry, it’s like a mini compact computer in you handheld wireless device, what more can you ask for in a phone.

You're able to communicate in more ways then one.
